Western Europe Regional Conference, Madeira, Portugal - we've been invited to teach 120 missionaries who gather for their bi-annual conference.  Our training will help these servants of Christ add to their skills in visual storytelling and support-raising strategies.  Missionaries attending serve in Ireland, England, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Norway, and Portugal.

In addition to teaching throughout the week, we’ll have plenty of time to interact with our missionary families, as we will all be staying at the same conference center.  Regional conferences are a time missionaries can unplug from the pressures of their regular ministries, so we have found it a great time to encourage and help them in many ways.  There will also be a children’s program, so Abby and Josiah will be involved with all the other Missionary Kids (MK’s).

After a week at the conference, we will fly back to Lisbon, Portugal to spend time working with our ABWE missionaries serving in the Capital city.  Our four primary roles will be:

  1. Teaching outreach photography classes - this will be done through local churches as a way to connect and communicate the Gospel to the communities around them.
  2. Creating multi-media stories that highlight the impact of the ministries in Portugal
  3. Teaching photography to junior high and high school students at Greater Lisbon Christian Academy (GLCA)
  4. Logistical planning for our new International Missions Photography Workshop (May 2014)

Please pray for these specific items:

  • This is the first time our whole family has traveled together overseas.  Pray for health and strength and a powerful impact on our children’s lives.
  • Pray that we can encourage and strengthen our Western Europe missionaries.
  • Pray that our children will be a vital part of our ministry as they encourage other MKs.
  • Pray that we can effectively finalize the material for the six courses (eleven class sessions) that we will teach, and will be able to communicate it clearly.
  • Pray that we will maintain our quiet time with God during our travels.
