Lessons in Armor

Jeff Raymond on May 28, 2012 Comments (1)

We recently found a way to enrich our tradition of “Family Fun Fridays”.  At a recent Christian homeschool convention, we bought a couple of books full of ideas for meaningful family nights that go beyond just fun, and teach a hands-on Bible lesson.  This past week, we tried the first lesson: putting on the armor of God.  It was so much fun to watch the kids race around the house searching for the perfect examples of each piece of armor, which we used to arm soldier boy Josiah for battle.
The lesson also included an object lesson with water, paper, pepper and soap to teach about using God’s Word to stand against temptation.  As we’ve continued to talk with our kids about temptation this week, we are realizing how much more they learn and remember if we find FUN ways to teach them God’s Word.

We challenge you to consider fun ways to teach biblical principles to your children.  If you are like us, you may feel a bit inadequate on how to go about that.  We found the "Family Time Activity" book published by Biblical Parenting to be very helpful.
They're full of creative, fun activities with a full lesson that teaches a Biblical truth.  Get more info HERE

I have been readin Eph. and have tried putting on the whole armour of God spiritually. I did enjoy Josiah's object lesson.
